I was once scared by Andromeda as Child, and this isn't even a Horrormovie, currently nothing scares me, but Insidious 1+2 was ok, anyway the psychological flavor of Horrormovies have the Tendency to be more scary than the gory ones... Its probably because if you don't see much, you imagine the Stuff yourself and there is nothing more scary than your own Fantasy, me thinks...

Outstanding suggestion. And another vote for The Thing (John Carpenter's version...not the abomination that was the prequel). Not sure if it was mentioned, but the original Halloween by John Carpenter is good, as well. Not gory at all.
