Open worlds are my favorite, RTS games are fun but I have anger problems, and Shooters......I'll never git gud.

Platformers, action RPGs and RPGs in general (espcially JRPGs in the old grand tradition, not the newer kind that just feels like a movie). Also starting to get into shmups.

And maybe an odd multiplayer thing here and there, such as a virtual board game.

Rarely play FPSes, except TF2. RTSes are cool but I like them more for building things than combat. Co-op sim stuff is cool too, but I haven't played much of that -- they tend to be really time-consuming.

took me a while to figure out why i didnt like gaming, cuz all the mainstream ones my friends recommend me are first person. i realized i like third person gameplay, mainly because i would rather much control a person rather than to BE the person

I highly recommend you check out the Persona series. They're modern JRPGs that are, for the most part, fairly old-school in that they aren't trying to do what Final Fantasy is trying to do and redesign the entire JRPG system. Instead, they just expand upon a few aspects and add their own style to the genre.
