Petition to Save DX9 !!
In my PC gaming experience dx9 games have brought the most joy and fewest frustrations. These days everything is DX11 only, my question is why? Why do developers have to remove DX9 compatibiltiy from modern games? DX10 as an upgrade to DX9 completely sucked and was irrelevant...is it me or did anyone else experience more glitches, bugs, and instability on dx10 than you ever did with dx9?

So here we are, new games, new systems, and dx11, okay advanced technology is cool and all but developers please continue to make games dx9 compatible!! Its stable, its proven, it works!!

Opengl is king of the crashes, a handful of hardware doesn't support it, and its slow as ♥♥♥♥.
All of this is wrong.

OpenGL has feature parity with DX11 and will be competing with DX12 and Mantle. Radeon cards not working properly with OpenGL is AMD's fault.
Directx10/11 still looks nicer then Opengl.

What is an example of an OpenGL game?

Not a lot of games are coded for OpenGL these days. To understand why, we'll need to look at history.

Too long, don't remember of it is that OpenGL was once the king of computer graphics, then it started having some issues, DirectX came along, devs started using DirectX instead of OpenGL, OpenGL fixed its problems, but by that time DirectX was so ingrained in game development that nobody wanted to switch.

A game being good has nothing to do with the DX version

Anything running on Linux really will be using the openGL version.
