The Disneywars heresy is not Star Wars.
afraid not, and it's not just star wars games, i suspect there is an even bigger deal going on there. After the Mandalorian brought to us a new way for actors to play their role as if they were really out there without going to a location somewhere in the world to set up and shoot the scene, it can be done with a massive screen with graphics artists using the unreal engine to make it a reality. i suspect Disney are so impressed with the unreal engine and what it has done for their live action series and the rave reviews around it that they want a closer partnership.
of course this means that EGS now gets exclusive deals with Disney for Star Wars games from here out. If only EA had not played their stupid antics around Disney all of last decade, this could have been avoided.
I have said to myself a while ago, I will not touch Disney products, movies or games personally. It's very difficult not too, kids watch disney movies, partner has disney plus, kids have disney bedding but personally, I will avoid buying any if I can help it.
But I'll never forgive them for cancelling Jazz Jackrabbit 3. Even if the beta was scrapped, there's no excuse for not trying again.

The players at the poker table are making their moves.
Why doesn't Disney just set up their own game devs and publishers/distributors? because not many would touch them as games buyers. Disney is poison, as for Epic they had a great developers 'people can fly' a great game worthy of a sequel 'bulletstorm' an absolute sh't show of a joke as DRM MS' games for windows live. 13 years later why is there no bulletstorm 2?
For every masterpiece like Ducktales and TRON 2.0 (I will also never forgive Disney for abandoning it and the reboot games and series) and Kingdom Hearts, there's the specter of a Goofy Matterhorn Screamer.
That's a candidate for worst game of all time that often gets overlooked. I thought I had successfully banished it from my memory until it got dredged back up recently. I don't think any of my family could get past the first screen.

Fortnite Skins and many other sorts of collaborative products, too.
They suck at it. They now own things like LucasArts that have a great "name in the business." But, they just suck at producing that kind of technical thing, so Lucasfilm Games just produces with third-parties.
Disney is no longer a "creative" company.
Period.
Unless you count' "making money" as "creative."
Which they also do well and... don't do well at. They do well at making money for things we don't like, howabout that? :)
