In my case, I like scary things, atmosphere, haunting stories, and mysteries. Good horror games have all these, but it also helps to have a overactive imagination as well.

Well sometimes a well done atmosphere + uncertainty makes a thrilling & fun experience, bonus points if it also has great storytelling.
