Why does America have bases in other countries?

Why does America have military bases in other countries around the world, yet if a rival nation wanted to do the same thing it would be a huge NO NO and they'd come in to spread freedom if any other nation did it.

But it's not really a perk when the USA has done it for years and years.

other nations in europe do that too..
uk and france foremost

so do russia, china, and a bumch of others..

why? to project militairy power.
as usa wants to project a lot of militairy power they have a?lot of basis.

european nations have declined in that regard. since the usa/ussr basicly forced decolonisation and thus the loss of basis on them.

china currently is building bases.

their global role is force projection and opening up markets for UK exploitation.

this requires a certain kind of supply chain that is best served by having supplies literally everywhere.

in the 19th century the British used to have bases everywhere too, but bases are expensive and they managed to cajole the US into creating its own global trade military. after the British sacked their capital. so they got rid of most of theirs; didn't need them anymore.

so now the US does it, and gets given good trade deals by the Trade Master, Britain. who typically start wars then nope out of them, since they can.

Except other countries do that too. Russia has bases in South America, Middle east, Africa, Asia.
