I think a hug is quicker and more like a greeting where a cuddle can be much longer like if you're watching a movie with your partner on the sofa.

Usually it´s fully dressed. Like in those clubs which i mentioned earlier, or when parents cuddle with their kids - or when friends cuddle. One can also cuddle naked. All in all cuddling is an innocent thing to do, as it´s just being close to each other, without being erotic or sexual - and it can include more or less laughter.
