Vikings were more of a blip of the historical radar compared to Rome.
Rome had an empire and political wise still influences us to this day.
TV show: Rome

As for actual history, the Roman were easily the most important people in recorded European history, not that the Vikings weren't also somewhat interesting.

not sure I am asking which group was more important to history, rather which was a better show.

regardless, I just started watching Viking and I love it. Rome I watched the entire 3 seasons in one weekend because I was gripped to it, fantastic series.

Vikings reminds me alot of the Elder Scrolls games. Super anti climatic battles, and cheesy story line, but still good.

When I say cheesy, I am referencing the battle where apparently a large naval invasion is about to occur, and 5 pikemen hop off a brig on some uninhabited beach and fight some filthy peasants and lose.

I havent seen that one.

All the battles the Vikings have done thus far that I have seen they have won.

That said, battle tactics are far down my list of things I am too worried about when it comes to shows I watch

EDIT: do you mean the peasants lost?

If so those were monks and there was in fact only one boat. anyway I am just at eposide 4

great! looking forward to it. I watched the first 4 espoides last night and I love it. Rome was fantastic
I prefer Vikings because I've never seen Rome.
Let's settle this on The Deadliest Warrior.

If we're talking Rome the HBO show from a few years ago (i don't know of any other Rome show) it's alright, but i think Vikings is far better. Plus, Vikings is going to be in it's third season starting February...that's more than Rome can say. The first Viking season is a little rough because the History Channel hasn't done true scripted television before. The second season is far better...the ending had me on the edge of my seat.
