Squaretrade, new laptop. need help

I just purchased squaretrade 3 year warranty, i use my computers all year round 24/7 and i do break them. i just purchased a new beautiful laptop and squaretrade as i said earlier along with it. The thing is the reviews are mixed online. Has anyone here filed a claim with them for your computer? Im paying 200 dollars so I'm anxious about the companies rep.

I need a warranty I just dont know if this company is the best.

I have had perfect service from them every time I've needed. They gave me what I paid for two cellphones and two computers that broke ( went down a flight of stairs and the other into a pool). The process was quick and no questions were asked. Plus they removed my hard drives and sent them back to me so I could get any fules I may of needed

The plans I get are always with Accidental Damage Protection.

I got the ADP plan too! its relaxing to hear a nice story right off the bat.

I've heard all kinds of weird horror stories like them replacing the processor from an i7 to an i5, or changing bad ram from 16 to 8 of good ram.. being rude etc.

I see many good reviews too but im a half glass empty kind of person so i appreciate your comment a lot, happy gaming and thanks again it helps out. ( Just purchased it minutes ago )

Well in all my cases they could not repair it so I can't attest to their repair abilities. For my last one an ultrabook of mine was kicked into a pool on a Friday afternoon. A few hours later I started a claim on line which took about 10 minutes. On Monday, I received a prepaid box and the Fed Ex guy picked it up on Tuesday. It arrived on Thursday and they sent me an email update. Friday they sent me another email saying it was not repairable and gave me options on how I would like to be reimbursed. I chose Paypal because it was the fastest and the funds showed up mid day Saturday. The following Wednesday I received my hard drive back ready to be put in an enclosure to access anything I needed and it doubles an external usb drive for me now. So that is my experience with them.

The horror stories you brought up remind me of Sony's old extended/accident protection warranty. They only offered a new replacement laptop with lower but newer components (like an old 2,4 ghz i-7 was replaced by a newer 2.6 ghz i-5 )or what they valed that at.

Also, search around for a coupon before you buy it. I think you have to buy the protection plan within 30 days of purchasing your computer. So you may find a good discount around Thanksgiving/Black Friday if that is an option for ypu.
