Can I get banned for reseting achievements?
Hi,
So I would like to reset my achievements and I found this tool called "Steam Achievement Manager". Could I get banned for using this tool to reset my achievements (not unlock)?

I don't even know who that CS:GO player is i don't watch e-sport.
That's probably gonna getcha a VAC if you mess around with Steam stuff.

VAC bans for running cheats while connected to a VAC-secured server. You can do anything you want while not connected to VAC, you can run all the memory editors or whatever you want, it won't stop you. Just make sure they're not running at the same time VAC is.

Steam ban-wise, Valve doesn't care enough about achievements to give Steam bans to people just for spoofing them.

Thanks!

So lets say if I try to edit my achievements on TF2 or CS, while not connected to a server, i will not get vac banned?

DONT LISTEN TO THIS GUY WTF ?
He is giving false information.

YOU CAN GET banned for reseting achievements because the program that does that is the same one that GIVES achievements ( Steam achievement manager ) Is a ban-able offense.

I know people who got banned for using trading bots ( having their accounts locked with 1000 games and HIGH valued tf2/csgo items worth 900$ ).
And people who got banned for using some bugs ( such as dupping the gems in christmas )
And those who got banned for uploading a lot of inappropriate screenshots.
And those who got banned for providing pirating links and talking about all that illegal stuff over and over.

Note , by Banned i mean literally, their accounts are locked, gone away forever.
Vac ban = cheating in a vac protected server.
Trade ban = caught scamming or anything
Steam lock = violating the agreements.

Yes you could get banned and have your account locked away forever if you reset achievements.
Trust me i wanted to do it, my friend did it in binding of isaac ( First game ) because he got 100% and wanted to have the fun of redoing it again, but he didnt get banned and that was 7 months ago, and many other friends did the same but still not banned.

So like i said you COULD get banned, if you wanna do it as always use at your own risk, just expect a ban.
dont go using illegal software and thinking ( i wont get banned ) Just because someone gave you false info on forum

Also if you use Playfire rewards + gmg and used that method to get achievements they will notice and ban you from those sites and all your GMG credit will go ( if its related to playfire )

Valve can ban you for any reason they feel like. Whether they actually will is an entirely different matter. SAM is definitely a "use it at your own risk" thing, but historically the risk is very low as Valve has never cracked down on it like it has the other things you mention, and I'd wager it's unlikely to do so in the future because it doesn't really affect them in any way, quite unlike people using their forum to advocate illegal activity or trying to game their holiday events.

You're absolutely right about Playfire, though. Using SAM to game their system isn't something they'd like and it's a very bad idea in that case.

No they can't ban you for any reason they like. They can decide not to do business with you anymore and prohibit you from purchasing, if they felt like, but they can't just randomly close your account for no reason at all. They need a reason, one that would hold up in a court.

The Steam Achievement Manager does break Steams Terms of Service, so it is an offense that can get your account closed. Not VAC banned, i am talking straight up losing your Steam Account.

They are not hunting down people that do it, i believe, but its not worth risking it, in my opinion. And if they are looking for reasons to get you from their system, it sure as hell giving them one.

He is right, your steam account is not actually yours, same thing for facebook account.
we are simply guests using them believe it or not.

But yeah SaM and among many others are use at your own risk.

i just got upset of that idiot saying you can only get vac banned but if you're not using vac servers you can never get banned, he should get banned from giving advices ever again ..

Steam locks accounts all the time for using vpn to buy a cheaper game or whatever and many more.
But they are not the best in doing it , as in you can get away with SO MUCH before getting banned.
I guess the way you'd get locked cuz of achievement abusing is by someone reporting you for an example finding all your 1 hour played games have 100% achievements and if a mod saw it i'd guess they would do something about it, iv heard about people getting banned for SaM but i dont personally know anyone.

So TL:DR Yes , Use at your own risk.
