No as a PC can be told to put it anywhere. A particular favourite for infections is your temp files but it lterally could be anywhere so lets hope its not if you have one planted in your boot as their hell to remove.
Even if your security doesnt find one either it doesnt mean your not infected im sorry to say.
Wrong again as the dean points out and i hope you use more than one security program, especially one you run on a stick or disk so you can isolate the drive.
