why is there such a delay between my mouse and the screen???
spent 60 bucks to play zombies on PC, now I hate it because there's a horrible lag and i'm wondering if I buy a controller will it work better than my mouse and keyboard? Don't wanna waste more money if it's still going to suck...

Turn v-sync off. (100% sure it is)
Also turn mouse acceleration off. (although it doesn't cause the delay)

Nobody can tell you that. You need to do a little more investigating into the problem, like
  • All games, desktop, or just one game?
  • Wireless mouse? Does it go away with a wired mouse?
  • Keyboard delay too?
  • Turn down the graphics settings, does that help?
  • ...

thanks to everyone for responding, i should have prefaced my post with "I am not tech-savy at all"...how do i turn down graphics setting? and please for the love of god what is a framerate? Hmm, what else....mouse acceleration? No clue what that is, and that has nothing to do with the fact that i'm blonde or a girl, i swear.

First of all what game did you buy and what are your PC specs, most importantly graphics card and CPU? If you dont know them then at least name and number of your PC.
You might be trying to run some latest demanding game on some junk office PC with weak graphics card or just on integrated graphics.

There are hundreds of HP PC desktops and laptops, to know what specs you have I would need the exact number of this desktop or laptop, basicly just string of numbers or letters that comes after HP in your laptop or desktop bundle name. Maybe you have some documentation or manual lying around that has that written somewhere.

This means you have too weak graphics card for modern games. Best to find out what your graphics card actually is before buying some other latest games that are even more demanding then Black Ops 2.

Make sure "sync every frame" is off. That is the vsync option and causes a lot of input lag.
