Future gaming trends you think will happen

What do you think will be popular in the next five to ten years of gaming?

I think (and hope) gaming monitors will be a thing of the past, VR will replace them.

Also think Dota 2 will be the only active MOBA; LoL is in decline, Dawngate cancelled and if the rumors are true, Heroes of the Storm isn't very good and Blizzard knows it. Other genres will adopt MOBA features - already the case with Titanfall, Battleborn, Overwatch and Battle Cry.

Also think asymetrical gaming would be a popular thing: Sorcerer King, Evolve and Shadow Realms all sound promising.

Xbox One will probably be Microsoft's last console, PS4 and Nintendo will be digital only. Streaming games across the internet would still be pipedream.

Not sure about that. From that Ocolus Rift thing I've heard mixed opinions. I'm not really hot for any technological advancements. Not even in terms of graphics and all. We've already reached a point where one who isn't a complete tech nerd can hardly ask for more. Me being too lazy to upgrade my current or buy me a new system plays into that too. Me having fun or not with games currently does not depend too much on the technology behind it.

One thing I would look forward to are better connections and/or server mechanics though. Playing shooters with people from the US, Australia or Asia is still a pain. There are online games which make like only half of the fun they should just because of lag and all.

I have no predictions, but I do have some things for which I hope will be coming in the next 5 - 10 years.

I want Half Life 3 to be released and be equally as amazing as Half Life 2.

I want Darksiders 3 to come out and be just as great if not better than Darksiders 2.

I want developers to develop PC versions of games first, then port to the consoles.

I want more Japanese developers to develop for the PC.

I want Tribes: Ascend 2, this time not Free 2 Play (microtransactions are BS).

I want EA and Ubisoft to change their ways instead of dying outright.

I want SWATting to stop.

I want death threats towards game developers and pubishers to stop.

I want death threats towards people like Anita Sarkeesian to stop.

I want PR teams to stop spewing nonsense such as "30 FPS is much better than 60 for action adventure games" and "if the game is beautiful, who cares about the number of pixels?"

I want developers to start focusing on aesthetics rather than graphics, which in turn allows them to spend more time on gameplay, story, and music.

And last but not least, I want people in general to start asking themselves "would I say this to their face?" when talking to people over the internet.

Anyway, that's why Darksiders 2 is such a gorgeous game. It has less focus on high fidelity visuals (though it does support high shadow resolutions and ambient occlusion) and more on nice aesthetics.

Speaking of Darksiders 2, it's a great game. Though I recall you saying something about hating the first game, so depending on what exactly you hated I don't know if I can recommend it to you.

Maybe if Microsoft stopped at Xbox One they could make a better Windows OS that runs even smoother, and also start releasing some more Windows only exclusives.

i hope that we can upgrade the hardware of consoles in the future to make them be ale to play 4k games at ultra settings as well as pcs.
and i hope vr isnt the only gaming option left because i still prefer the classis monitor, kb&mouse gaing method over vr.
assassins creed will die, fallout 5 will be announced, gta vi will give more options in dialogue like witcher3 (and they carry weight on how the story ends), half life 3 is announced, then cancelled, then secretly released.

there are many things that can happen to gaming, such as 3d/hd games die out and we all play 2d games again (right not, many logos are turning into 2d, take microsoft, pepsi, ebay etc. for example.

no one can predict the future of gaming. 10 years ago, no one would've thought that we could acheive graphics like in acu, witcher, gta v etc. so lets hope for the best for gaming.
