I have the exact same problem, the 2 buttons are covering very important informations in my Kerbal space program.

first button is a microphone, the second one looks like 2 arrows going in a circle.

I thought it might be part of the steam overlay, then i thought it might have to do with nvidia shadow play. i tried to google it but this post seems to be the only information i could find on this problem.

any ideas guys?

What OS (Operating System) you using?

Do you have any third party applications running - such as teamspeak, etc?

It's Nvidia GeForce Experience Shadowplay. Open up geforce experience, click on the shadowplay button in the top right, and turn off audio on the shadowplay control panel that pops up. That should fix it.

I would like to see your necro police badge. Anyways, who cares if someone gives the solution to the problem? It's not even the whole point of the thread....

If anyone else googles this issue and finds no solution, the newest Geforce update removes "shadowplay" options and instead has "share" under General. Open up Geforce Experience, click the little cog "settings" button in the upper right corner, go to "General" and you should see a "share" tab with a green slider. Click the slider so it's grey and the microphone should vanish.
