Does anyone know where to buy a 1600x1200 monitor
I have been searching online for days trying to find a monitor that isn't widescreen (Because it is almost useless as a computer display, also that aspect ratio is difficult to find games that work with it). I have been searching almost everywhere and what I have found is a few very small 4:3 monitors. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated

24 inches or more
60hz or more
$250AU or less
Not white

Go to your nearest commercial center or just search better on Amazon.

I checked 4 different commercial centres, also I am Australian so I use Ebay. Amazon is an American company

What has that to do with anything? There is a specific site for Australians, so why don't you use that one?

I did and it came up with only rougly 17" monitors (too small) and I also checked amazon thanks to the advice that person gave me and it also came up blank. Ebay is what most Australians prefer

Never figured it would be THAT tough to get stuff when you're living in Australia ._.

It is never difficult to get anything in Australia. This is the first time I am having trouble finding something which should be commercially available

1600x1200 lcd monitor, 75-125$ AU

I'm sorry I forgot about those results, I did an Ebay search a long time ago. Anyway the first one is horrifically ugly and too small, the other one is white. I play games with my light off and so it would ruin the immersion to have those colours

I'm looking for something which is an improvement over my 1440x900 22" LCD 60hz Black 5:4 Monitor

no more 1600x1200 new monitors manufactured according to the article author.

brand new samsung monitors (23.6" and above) have 1920x1080 or higher resolutions

1920x1200 resolution; 16:10 aspect ratio.
Widescreen is absolutely horrible for computers but it's easier for manufacturers. 16:10 is still a bit wide

It seems I may be stuck with 900p, it's ok since Ubisoft is being pressured by the console manufacturers to lock the PC version at 900p as well. Still I am very disappointed at this reality

That was a rumor and not true. Microsoft denied doing that and I'm sure Sony didn't either.

i bought my 202p7 crt for 100$ off a computer hardware recycling group. It I cant remmeber their website for the life of me though.

Just keep looking around, your bound to find a old CAD crt like i did. The only real problem is finding them in a decent conditon. Alot of high resolution crt monitors out there now a days are pretty degraded. They may have screen artifacts or thier phosphors may be degraded. so make sure that the monitor is in grade A condition. If its in grade B conditon make sure its only minor issues ( mirco scratches, screen shadows ect.)

The 202p7 crt monitor that i bought was listed as grade B condtion. It had some small screan artifacts and the screen brightnes was dark compared to a LCD monitor. But after some calibration it out classed my 300$ LCD montor in basicly every category except color.

I use this montior as my main display for my computer now. its basicly great for everything except for a few games that dont like 4:3 (dark souls for example).

Even worse is the games that dont like widescreen (the majority of games). I barely ever see a 1920x1080 resolution option in games
