Best Steam Games for Guys?

I have been wanting some good games, but a lot of games are for girls.
I would really appreciate some suggestions please, not too expensive and don't take up too much space. And as well I like Portal 2, Unturned, Don't Stave and animal games. And any games like Minecraft too.

I'm not sure what to make of this post. Obviously there's some sarcasm here, but there's also something else weird going on. I can't figure you out, so I'm just going to recommend System Shock 2 because anyone who claims to be a gamer should play it or be forever stripped of the title gamer, be disgraced and lose fifty internets.

A girl had the audacity to make a thread asking for game recommendations. OP felt this was THE LAST STRAW. Hence the posts complaining about girls having girly names, about how girls just beg for stuff and attention, about how gaming isn't male dominated (and thus it is necessary to mock girls, because they can't make normal threads), etc.

The opening post was mocking that thread because really, there are very few games if any at all that only guys can enjoy. Great. But,
1. Nobody suggested that only guys can enjoy games. In fact, the damn thread is filled with people saying that games are for everyone, just some people like different things, gosh.
2. You're missing the point that many games are marketed for boys, and military games (which are a lot of them) are stereotypically for boys. Another way to say "what are some good games for girls" is "what are some good games that I will find appealing? I don't like really violent shooters and stuff".

That's exactly what I was doing, which is why I copied her post and just changed all instances of "girls" to "guys".

I see, now the sarcasm makes a bit more sense. I have seen these 'fake girls so I can get games from boys' types and I find it disgusting and pathetic. There was one guy who even posted this long bloglike essay on the forums one day about how to deceive other gamers in order to obtain free games. I was appalled.

Personally I don't believe that games are made for one gender or the other any more than music or food is. Personal taste is infinitely subjective and variable. It takes all types. I'm female yet I prefer horror games, fps (preferably with a supernatural edge), rpgs, and science fiction, and you'd be as likely to find me near anything pink and frilly and romantic as you would be to find Pyramid Head waiting to serve you cocktails in your bathroom the next time you visit it.
Stereotypes and people who perpetuate them make my teeth itch.
