Samsung galaxy s4 att (i337) wifi and bluetooth not working
Ok so from what I looked up, you can root the phone and rename a file (some sort of config file) and then reboot the phone and it will replace it.

I posted an ad on CL and a guy wanted $50 and he basically said he would go into the phone and repair the damaged files.

So I figure I can do this myself if it's not a hardare issue.

I've rooted on 4.2.2 and I don't see the file the guy was talking about though.

Can anyone tell me how to get to the file?

S4 supports Android 5.0; why root and use the original 4.xx ?

Just as a test/check, did u try the factory restore?

I have 5.0.1 on my nexus 7 2012 and I don't like the interface or drop down system at all.

Plus I've seen a lot of problems posted about 5.x on the s4.

I like 4.2.2. It suits me. The only upgrade I might do is to 4.3 to get app OPS and maybe better GPS functionality.

If I was guaranteed a quicker GPS aquisition time with a different firmware, I would upgrade to it. But I've had mixed responses regarding this.
And no on the factory restore. Although I just got a 640gb hdd for backups since my 500gb is full so I just might do a factory reset tonight and see if that helps at all.

I would try the factory restore first then; that should take u back to 4.xx
As I see no reason the WiFi/BT wouldn't work, unless the phone is damaged perhaps.
It's always possible for those to quit working if u went in and changed some carrier info or network setting u were unsure of.

hold the power button for a few seconds, and make sure its not in airplane mode
I didn't change anything at all. Just stopped working a few days ago.

It is. But I manually enable wifi and it's never been a problem before. It won't let me enable it now

On the S4 desktop, go to the upper drop-down menu, hit the expand button in upper right corner. Make sure nothing there is on. Power cycle the phone, when it's back to desktop, go back to that same drop down and try turn on the WiFi; what happens next?

I'm trying to turn bluetooth off, but it keeps going in and out of dark green, as if it's trying to turn itself on. It will stay dark green for 30 seconds, then stay grey for 10 seconds, then it tries to turn itself back on again but only goes dark green.

I was able to get wifi to stay off though.
