Yeah, The Swatiska (pronounced "swasTEEKuh" by the Hindus) is the ancient Sun symbol. Goes WAAAAY back. Prolly more than 5000 years. Later adopted by the Tibetan Buddhists, and one of their most important esoteric symbols.
The high-ranking Nazis were heavy into the occult, but not in the negative way of devil worship or anything like that. Himmler and others were trying to resurrect the old ways of doing things in order to improve upon the Aryan race. That's partly where the whole positive eugenics thing got started.
There is an excellent (albeit somewhat slanted) series you can watch on Youtube called "The Occult History of The Third Reich". It is ALL file footage and is EXCELLENT. I now have a much better understanding about what they were up to after watching this 4-part series. The narrator is top-notch, too. Professional.
Watch these two, in particular:
∙ The Occult History of the Third Reich - Part 1 - The Enigma of the Swastika
∙ The Occult History of the Third Reich - Part 4 - Himmler the Mystic
Highly-recommended (and so is reading up on the REAL meaning of The Swastika and some of the other symbolism that the Nazis used...).
Thanks for recommending "The Occult History of The Third Reich." I find that sorta stuff interesting. I will try watching it as soon as I can.
At about 13:40 into The Occult History of the Third Reich - Part 1 they mention Guido von List[en.wikipedia.org] and his efforts to try to recover the lost history of the Germanic people via his study of the Runes[www.google.com].
His work became the primary inspiration to Hitler and other high-level Nazis (but in a constructive way).
So, you might find Part 1 of this series interesting.
Check it out...
Cool !
