Battlefield: Hardline... Is Cops and Robbers better than Bood Army vs. Bad Army
I haven't played it yet but I am really looking forward to it. I just recently bought a digital copy of the new Battlefield: Hardline at my local Gamestop. Sure I could have stayed at home and just bought the game at an online retailer, but I like the crew at my local Gamestop, and me shopping there keeps the place in business and contributes to the paychecks of the guys (and girls) who work there. Plus I like getting out of the house every now and then so I can talk to fellow gammers in person. By doing this I often get to meet new people and I get the low down on new realease dates, push-backs and up comming sales and awesome deals relatively early before the news hits the wire.

I found out about Hardline a long time ago. Way before the news poped up on the internet and commercials began to run on tv. When I first heard about it, the news was so fresh that the source didn't know if Hardline was going to be some sort of mod or offered as a funky half a$$ side-show Battlefield spin-off. When the news of Hardline being a full blown game that was going to be taken seriously finally hit I became imediately super stoked. Finally a first person shooter that was bringing something different to the table. An A-Class first person shooter that wasn't "military" or "mercinary" based? How could this be? It could very easily be... take a very good (great even) fps formula like Battlefield and add it to a fantasy that we have been watching on tv for years and played with our friends every other weekend as we were kids... "Cops-N-Robbers"! The idea was so simple and so brilliant that I have no idea why developers didn't come up with the concept years ago. Why did it take them so long?

Now that it has been done and the game has been released I have been hearing nothing but good things about it, and I am wondering... Will anybody else try to capitalize on this formula? If so, will it be taken to the next level or will it be copied? From what I hear, athough Hardline has the same old "Shoot'em up and defend" concept, it has been totally tweaked, twisted and made new again. The game feels fresh and suprisingly different. Even the campaign is actually worth playing. At least that is what I am hearing. I haven't been this excited about a first person shooter in a long time. I have looked forward to certain games, but with those games I always expected or knew what or how the game was gonna play out. With Hardline, I have no idea what to expect and that really intriques me... A first person shooter of which I know nothing about!

I am really excited about this buy and for the first time in a long time I do not have any qualms about paying full price for a game. I just hope and pray that the game doesn't get old fast. I hate when that happens. The last fps that I payed full price for (I am not naming names to save myself the embarrassment) got old within the first hour. If I could have taken the gun and shot myself through the TV screen I would have gladly done so. It's about time that the cops and robbers theme has been reconized as a captivating scenario to play out. Lets just hope that it doesn't get walked all over, stepped on and turned into an "everybodys doing it so I am going to do it to" type of thing. When things like that happen so much money and time is spent on the same old crap when instead you can be developing the next "BIG Thing"!

Have you been playing Hardline? Is it as good or as bad as you expected it to be? Could it have been done better? Am I full of crap for even wanting and buying the game, or am I just full of crap in general? So many questions! I really am excited about this game and I hope that I am right for being excited. It $ucks when I am wrong about these games. Not only am I stuck with a $hitty game but I am out the $60 that I payed for it.

I forgot to mention (I am gonna catch a lot of crap for this) but I only buy fps games for the campaign. I could care less about the multiplayer aspect of the game. I know, I know... Fps games are all about multiplayer. That may be the case for you, but for me multiplayer is extremely boring. It's always the same. The type of game your playing might be different (capture the flag, death match, etc...) but with each game the objective is always the same. Plus, I do not care if I am top ranked or not. I don't care if you are better at the game than I am or if I am better at the game than you. When it comes to multiplayer type games I am not a competitive person, I am just not. Way back when Medal of Honor: Alied Assult was huge I used to be really into multiplayer. I was really good at it and I always ranked in the top 5 after each match... Then it happened... I just got bored with it. It got to be repetitive, lame and non-productive. Years later when COD came out I tried at it again. I was still good at it, but it didn't do it for me. I like content, story driven characters, entertainment, and a bunch of strangers shooting at each other over and over again doesn't cut it for me. If you like that sort of stuff than that is great, thats is awesome and I am happy for ya! Seriously, I am! The main reason that I bought Battlefield: Hardline was because I have heard that the campaign/story is so amazing. I sure hope so... I do not wanna be out $60. Please... I am not disrespecting anyone that likes multiplayer. I am not saying that people who enjoy multiplayer are stupid, lame or non-productive. I am purely talking about the game style... That is all! People are different, we always have been and that's what makes the world so interesting. It is also what makes the world such a dangerous place. Not everyone can appreciate each others differences. Hopefully we can all get past that and maybe the world can finally be at peace.

FPS mulltiplayer is all about replayability (okay, some people are in for the I'm better than you are aspect but not everybody).

The AI will only do things one way, and when you figure out what way that is the game isn't all that challenging to play anymore.

Live people you never know what they are going to do... and when you can guess right or work out a counter to whatever you see it is sweet.

Sort of like playing chess with guns that nobody gets hurt in. :)

Where have you been lol, all I hear is bad news about it. I played the Beta, watched TotalBiscuits first impression here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEaOBQkh7PI

...and came to the conclusion that it is essentially just a ploy game to get more money that may or may not be put into Battlefront. I had fun for a few hours at most with the game before I started finding the cracks in the gamemodes, balancing, and lack of interesting content.

I definitely would not get Hardline for singleplayer either, since the replayability will most likely be non-existant like many other recent Battlefield titles. If you are interested in watching the single-player portion of the game, I would watch a playthrough here:

I honestly cannot recommend getting FPS games strictly for the single-player on most occurances and, to me at least, the multiplayer on Battlefield titles is becoming much more of a clone with each iteration.

To each their own I suppose, but I honestly could not recommend Hardline as it adds nothing of value to the franchise and should be a standalone expansion.
