How can I persuade my peasant peers to join the PC master race?

Hello, in school, I am the leader of a debating group, which usually attracts about 50-100 people at break time to argue on things. Usually stuff like stem cells, religion and homosexuality, but recently my passion for PC gaming, gets me picked on, as I am the odd one out. so naturally if someone says something so retarded (xbox graphcis better etc) I go mental. But to the point, people have forced me to do a debate on PC gaming vs consoles, what should I do? I know mods and stuff, but usually peasants are a tough crowd, unwilling to change, any advice?

While PCs are constantly evolving and you can change any part of your rig, without the need to buy another computer if it breaks down, the consoles are going to be used for many years and they all get outdated; Look at PS4 and Xbone, they may look ''cool'' and ''next-gen'' now, but what after some years? The techonology will get to a completely new level, one which only PC race will be powerful to render at maximum settings. These console will suffer what PS3 and Xbox 360 are suffering now: lower graphics than those on PC.
The performance is not the only thing. As you said, mods are a great feature to increase the lifespawn of a game. A very good and popular example here is Skyrim. I can't count how many console users I've met that were raging because they can't put ENBs and girls with big butts and tits on their game. Of course, PC users were laughing at them.
Despite staying on bed and looking at the big TV screen, I can't find any single reason why one should choose consoles over PC (of course, there are a few console-only titles, but I never appreciated publishers like those; if it's a console-game only, then I might as well pass over it).

How long has the PC been around? Think honestly. 30 or so years? And during that time frame, there's been an Xbox, Xbox360, XboxOne, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and I'm not even going to get into handheld gaming devices.. PC has survived many years more than that of Xboxes and Playstations... They've stopped making games for the Xbox, soon they'll do the same for the 360. But PC's games will still be around for years to come.

Even then, PCs can be setup just as easily as a console with big TVs and couches. It's something console players should be aware of it.

Here's some advice:

• Stop taking games so seriously.
  
• Don't use the following terms: "console peasants", "PC master race"
  
• Leave your fedora at home.
  
• There are advantages and disadvantages to all platforms.

It kind of sounds like people are goading you into this because they find your over-the-top reactions hilarious. It's all just videogames.

Slap a hotfix on a console game, mod the files, and upgrade the graphics card to the latest and greatest.

Now do it again with a PC.

Enough said.

If you want more ammunition, split each screen and do an Excel spreadsheet or write a report while you play the game you just tweaked.

Now, if you are all about DDR, you should go console. :)

Point out the benefits of PC gaming, and point out the disadvantages of consoles. You could also mention how you don't have to be sat at a desk to play games on the PC, and you don't have to use mouse and keyboard, as that seems to put of a lot of people. If after that none of them rush to buy a PC, mention Steam and GabeN, our Lord and, no I'm just kidding. Good luck on the debate.

It seems publishers of console-only games have no excuse anymore. Soon enough (hopefully), emulators will come to life and we can completely forget about console's existence.

Don't sound like an elitist. You have to understand the benefits of consoles first (price, ease oof use etc) then show them that making a pc isn't as hard as they think (and offer to help them - people aren't going to spend hundreds on parts just to break them when they put them together) and that what many of the good things about consoles actually can be done on pc (living room, controllers etc)

Show off your rig and let them see how much better pcs are. hell, even bring it in, allow them to see for themselves.

Or just link them to digital foundry for the 'xbox graphics are better' fools.
