if we are so intelligent, why are we making our habitat inhabitable?
Insects in general are underrated. The entire world would very shortly die and be knee deep in dead things without them.
Overrated - Humans
Underrated- Gorillas
Under-rated: Humans, apparently. How we could not be the top animal on everyone's list is beyond me. I know it's all fashionable to blame everything on humans, but that's only because some humans want you to blame others. You all have very nice brains, try to keep up. The Earth is fine.
I suppose that if your standard for an animal to be worthy involves living some vapid semi-sentient existence where it never accomplishes anything greater than what it was designed to do, by all means pick some lesser animal, but humans are where it's at. We're the only ones that can ever save those pathetic things, or better yet, improve them.
Under-rated: Badgers
Under-rated: Sharks and Mantarays
They would if they tasted better.
They need the ability to +1 comments!
Of course, that category encompasses an incredibly small number of species. Mostly those which are parasites, particularly those specializing in parasitizing humans. Pretty much everything else plays an important role in the natural ecosystem. Since even the smallest of changes can result in major disruption to our civilization, a stable ecosystem is entirely in our interests.
