A good casual indie platformer?
I don't mind some challenge in games. However, it seems liike with a lot of platformers, they are very difficultt....for the sake of being difficult. Raging isn't fun? :P

What are some indie platformers that provide a somewhat lengthy experience that you can see the ending? :)

I Wanna Be The Guy. It's pretty casual and relaxing, good for winding down after a long day.

Serious answer: probably Braid

Game 1: Spelunky
I played spelunky for a good time and it was tons of fun its a Rougelike 2D Platformer.
Theres truly possibility of rage but i had my fun anyways.

The Games goal is basicly to archieve as many points as possible (if you die you have to go from the start again) BUT there is an actual end and tons of secrets and so on.
It haves big replayvalue due to the challenge the tons of secrets items random generated levels and much more.

Game 2: Oddworld New n Tasty
I dont know if this actually is an Indie Game but its definely a good platformer its an HD remake of an old game from the ps1 and you may like it.
Basicly its a 2D platformer with a Story mode where you have to go through the different levels if you like you could of course take a look at the steam store site :)
(also this game isnt out yet but you can pre order it but as far as i know it comes this month)

Game 3: Fortune Summoners
Probably i wouldnt recommend this one since you said Raging isnt fun but i mention it anyways
this game is a 2D Platformer/RPG with an Anime art style to it.
The Story is more fun than serious but the Gameplay was the thing which let me love this game
i loved the combat with those tons of combos and spells.
Also of course this game does have an ending and it does have an amazingly long playtime of atleast 20hrs.
I would say buy this Game if you like:Variety of combat,RPG elements, hard challenge and Anime Artstyle.
but if you dont like it than i wouldnt go for it

i hope that kinda helped you :)

(Side note if you look for a classic looking 3D platformer with good visuals look up "A Hat in Time" on Steam Greenlight it isnt out yet but definely looks fantastic)

I'm never quite sure what games qualify as platformers, but among the games that I have completed and/or not failed along the way that might be called "platformers", I can recommend Trine/Trine 2 or Dust: An Elysian Tail.

If you want to venture into the 3D realm, the Tomb Raider Trilogy (Legend, Anniversary, Underworld) provide a lot of "platforming", as do Prince of Persia (2008) or Psychonauts.

Maybe I'm completely off track, or maybe I could pick more games from my list, but that's it for now.

A rather simple but very good game is Thomas Was Alone. Also, the makers of Rocketbirds Hardboiled Chicken call it a "platform adventure game".

Games that I started playing but failed along the way that might fit the "platformers" label include Guacamelee! Gold Edition, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Cave Story+.

Akane the Kunoichi was lots of fun for me :) it's a bit challenging at times and some complain the controls are too clumsy, but trust me if you give it a chance you'll learn the trick of it and you can def. get to the end, even get 100% achievments if you give it a few more hours and dedication ;D

I appreciate ALL of the responses. :)

I added Akane ( Might have played a little bit of that one on XBox Indie ) and Fortune Summoners to my wish list!

Will check out A Hat In Time...

I'd give BattleBlock Theater a shot. It's easy at first, but it can get rage-inducing in later levels. Also, there's community-made levels in the workshop, which gives metric tonnes of replayability.

You may enjoy this one, it's challenging but not infuriating, in fact, you decide if you just want to take it easy and get past the levels or accept the challenge of collecting all the stars (which is tough)
