Why do people hate wasps?

Why do people hate wasps? People are always like "bees rule wasps drule". There is no reason to hate bees, but wasps arent all that bad either. First of all, many wasps DO pollenate flowers. They also control crop pests like locusts. Not to mention they, like all other species, keep the food chain in balance. Also when I caught a wasp and released, it just flew away it did not sting me. Also only honeybees die when they sting not other types of bees. Wasps don't make honey but that is not reason to hate them with a passion. Wasps are just a little more agressive, that's all. So what do you think?

I just don't like them because after you about die to them twice you learn not to like them. I'm allergic to wasp and franky, if they give me space, I'll give them theirs. But once in a while something will irritate them and they go on the war path. I don't hate them, but I don't like them either.

Haha I live in a pretty rural area, and I stupidly wore sandals for the longest time in the summer. I also have a really sugary diet and wore bright colors as a kid. I was always an accident waiting to happen. xD

No wonder you are a primary target, but don't say you are an accident waiting to happen, lol. Hopefully you won't get stung anymore. I'm lucky.

They make a scary sound, move in a rather impredictable manner and have things to painfully poke into you. Reason enough to stay clear off both bees and wasps. Also, as said, black and yellow are warning colors.

I got stung three times last summer.

IN my own home.

Apparently bees make nests in the walls or ceiling or something. The year we moved in it was yellow jacket wasps.

Ants are also abundant here.

I'm of the opinion that ALL hymenoptera species inherently ♥♥♥♥ for anything other than pollination and they all need to stay the *#@& away from me and my home. Thanks.

I was making an EVE reference, but probably not too many capsuleers playing around on Steam.. heh. I agree, they are very intelligent, and without them we would have major problems ourselves!

Wasps down here in Texas just have no purpose in life but to make your life a living hell. All they do is find ways into my house and do nothing else! But regardless I just hate bugs in general..
