Why do people hate wasps?

Why do people hate wasps? People are always like "bees rule wasps drule". There is no reason to hate bees, but wasps arent all that bad either. First of all, many wasps DO pollenate flowers. They also control crop pests like locusts. Not to mention they, like all other species, keep the food chain in balance. Also when I caught a wasp and released, it just flew away it did not sting me. Also only honeybees die when they sting not other types of bees. Wasps don't make honey but that is not reason to hate them with a passion. Wasps are just a little more agressive, that's all. So what do you think?

Wasps and hornets, unlike bees are highly aggressive, and unlike most bees, can sting multiple times. And if you kill one, you are in a world of hurt, as that release a pheromone that triggers the nest to attack. A dozen yellowjackets can bring the pain of 100 bees, and if you happen to have the pheromone on you, they will follow you.

That's an exageration. First of all, most bees CAN sting you multiple times. Honeys bees are they outlier. Second, I have been close to wasps all my life and never stung once.

...actually that happened to me and i liked them cause i thought that i needed something like that to be more virile ...that's what i thought when i was 10 ,lol

i still like dangerous insects though (even if i don't challenge them anymore) so i prefer wasps

Wasps don't bother me. They build nests in my shed and I just leave them there. I can stand like 3 feet away from them to get the lawnmower out or something and they don't even care.

I've only been stung three times in my life. Two of those times I deserved it because I provoked them.
