X-Com UFO defense. Kind of is a RPG in a way.
Oh and wasteland too.
Idk, are there any modern day soldier cRPGs? Roman cRPGs, besides AoD? A non-fantasy/sci-fi one would be nice.
Eh...your profile shows none of them and I was trying to pull games that weren't there. *shrug*
The third isn't a point and click adventure, but it is driven by dialogue choices instead of combat. Certainly something "unusual".
Mount & Blade is certainly worth a look.
"King of Dragon Pass" is another great old game with only a few fantasy elements.
As for a Roman cRPG, take a look at "Nethergate: Resurrection", you can play the campaign as either Romans or Celts.
Nethergate is a Spiderwebs game right? Idk much about those games except that they made 20 or more similar looking games. Are they any good?
Sorry, it blended in with the Europa Universalis...es.
Outside of your Fallouts and Shadowruns, many of the classic isometric party-based rpgs unfortunately tend to be limited to fantasy tropes. Modern and sci-fi seems to go more the route of turn-based tactics and aRPGs or any sort of thing these days with RPG Maker.
They're very solid. No masterpieces but very enjoyable for fans of classic cRPGs, I think.
Nethergate and the Geneforge series are my favourites among their games. The latter might be worth a look, too. Geneforge is a light fantasy game, there are no orcs or elves and the monsters are actually created by one of the human factions to be used as servants.
The Last Remnant. Get the Steam version, it's much, MUCH better on PC.
