I bought a PS3 and threw away my console boxes

But I don't plan on selling the console and the box does take up space...Do you think it's okay?

You mean the box it came in? Or the physical casing, you void the warranty when you modify any components of the system or tamper.

The box will be really nice if you ever have to send the ps3 back to Sony if its defective or breaks while under warranty.
If you don't have room for the box, you will be fine throwing it out. You will never NEED it.

Ya you are fine then, because the serial information is all on the console itself correct. So really no need to keep the box. Only rreally useful for storage then.

Yeah I have no problem with storage, the box just looked good :/
