EA Origin Refund Question (i can't really find an answer anywhere)
Yes I know how a lot of steamers hate Origin due to it being from EA and the lack of sales... but I just want to know, if you purchase a game on Origin and like the very next day it goes on sale (like less than 24 hours later), is it likely that EA refund the purchase of said game?

I'm just regretting my impulse purchase of DA2 and it went on sale literally 12 hours later. Also sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I don't really use the Steam forums.

Thanks!

"You may return EA full game digital downloads (PC/Mac) purchased on Origin for a full refund within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from your date of purchase or within seven days from the game's release date if you pre-ordered, whichever comes first. This is in addition to your standard return or refund rights."

Pretty sure it covers DA2.
Thanks. I did see that and I examined pretty much every single policy I could find from their site, but I'm just a little more concerned if i buy a game. Attempt to return it. Then buy it again, but this time at a discounted price. Just wondering if there's been a precedent for it.

Yeah Steam could easily offer the same policy for Valve games.

No they couldn't their model is completely different in business.
a) Origin sells EA games, games they publish, they have the ability to do so.
b) System would be abused, the number of games you can beat in 1 sitting is astounding, even if this policy were to be enacted, people would abuse it and steam would not be able to feasibly
c) Origin customer support has always been atrocious, I personally have had bad experiences with them, even when I was entitled to receive a product/refund and end result being it didn't happen.

I understand I may be biased here, but look at EA winning the worst business award twice, this isn't just a lone person crying foul.

Origin sells non-EA games as well, the "Great Game Guarantee" only applies to EA games, HLCinSC wanted the same to apply to Valve games on Steam.

Yeah i understand that alot of games can be beaten in under 24 hours, but maybe if there was a policy where you could return a game after 24 hours granted you havent activated/stared the game. Once you start the game up you cant return it but if you buy a game maybe you have second thoughts about it and you can return it before starting it up.

I wish there was a policy that you could return games within the first 24 hours whether youve started them up or not, what if i buy a game and theres technical problems with it, not that i experienced this more than once, i spent $10 for the dead rising complete pack, then when i started it up and played it i was getting horrible performance issues, and i never played it again, $10 wasted.

Policy does not have to be permanent. EA may be willing to take more of a hit to grow Origin, but if it was so overly abused they would likely drop it soon. there are plenty of Valve and EA games that are either multiplayer centric or single player centric. There are always clauses that allow them to deny users they think are abusing the system.

Other people have different experiences with Origin customer support. I don't think anyone thinks it is as bad as it used to be. They offer many tools steam support doesn't such as live chat or phone support. they also offer discounts to users experiencing issues. The worst company thing is more based on practices like overuse of DLC and removing features of previous versions of games rather than being a direct result of people judging Origin's customer support department.
