But dual wielding is still alive as much as it used to be btw. You just need to know where to look for it.
Shadow Warrior has it but using the katana is about 10 times more fun. ROTT has it but it's really poorly made anyways. If you really want to have fun shooting two guns pick up Max Payne 3 on sale, the game is a masterpiece.
The worst dual wield I have ever seen was in halo 2. Terrible game btw, still played the hell out of it though because it was just about the only thing to do at grandma's house.
Yeah, all weapons are duel-wieldable in that game. Dual weilding shotties is pretty awesome.
More likely balancing issues.
-spiker weapon was utter garbage.
Depends. My main Borderlands character is a Siren built around SMGs, which I use for almost everything. I don't even carry a shotgun around -- 4 SMGs, 2 Sniper Rifles, 1 Rocket Launcher. Of the 4 weapon slots, 3 are usually used by SMGs, the 4th is kind of the "special purpose" slot that gets a Sniper or the Rocket Launcher when I need them. Or just the 4th SMG.
Now, she can't dual-wield. She doesn't need to, though. I'm not entirely sure about the max potential on the weapons, but both my Anarchy and my Hellfire must be pretty close to "perfect". Of course, it never hurts to pump out more damage -- but I'm not even sure that it would REALLY help. My perfect mat3 mercenary mod can almost keep up with the ammo consumption, so the short breaks between enemies are usually enough (Crawmerax is the only guy where I might actually have to take a longer break to regenerate ammo, although I'm now trying to get more bullets to hit to avoid that). I'm not sure whether dual-wielding SMGs would actually let me kill twice as quickly, as the Hellfire and the Anarchy cover somewhat distinct scenarios. I might just be pumping out more bullets for little benefit...
Depends on which Devil May Cry you play. I confess, I just have 1 and 3, but in Devil May Cry I finished most of the game with the default pistols. It takes a lot of time once in a while to kill certain demons and I had to use my melee weapons in the last boss fight, but it's doable.
