What are some great games for kids? (6-11 years)
Hey fellas,

I recently reinstalled my girlfriend's brother laptop. His kids are using it the most and I was thinking about getting them some great games that they would enjoy (Steam or not). I started with The Sims 2 (they love it) and Minecraft (which might be way too complex considering I spent more times reading wiki than playing it when I gave it a shot few years back).

I'd like to get them some more great games. What are some games that are not too difficult (and graphically taxing, the laptop isn't too good)?

Thanks!

im surprised no one has suggested a horror game or a hard game like dark souls... i'm proud of you guys.
Still waiting for Postal.
DAMMMMMMNNNNN XDDDDDDDD
Really? OK, there's either of the two Rayman games, the Lego games and Scribblenauts.
Putt-putt goes to the moon;
Scribblenauts Unimited;
And to be honest, I consider the sims 2 way more complex than Minecraft. As long as they only want to build things on creative mode, Minecraft is easily old-school.
Final III, Final Fantasy VII, (Final Fantasy VIII)

A cardboard box masquerading as a graphics card could run them, no blood or gore (not sure about FF8 that's why I put it in brackets), and also excellent games and not too challenging.

Child of Light! How could I forget.

Bad joke, I know.

Sim City 4 could be nice but that might bore younger kids
Professor Fizzwizzle. Good times...

Portal and Portal 2.
Point and click adventure games are great fun, I'd suggest going with some of the more kid oriented ones for the easier and less convoluted puzzles, like the Pajama Sam series.

Monkey Island and other Lucasarts adventure games are incredible, but their puzzles can get messy and complicated, and even frustrating, so I'm not sure if the younger kids would enjoy them much, plus, only Secret of Monkey Island 1&2 are on Steam.

Pff, Postal? They're between 6-11 year old, they're not babies. I recommend Manhunt.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Seriously now, how about Putt-Putt?

Darude - Sandstorm
Oh yeah BTW OP, since some of the answers you'll get are jokes I suggest you look into all of these games before buying them for the children.
