Do you prefer to watch movies dubbed or subbed?
As the title said, do you prefer to watch movies with subtitles or dubbed?

For me, it depends on the type of movie. If it's a live action movie, then i generally only watch it subbed with the original language. Dubbing on live action films generally sucks in my opinion.

If it's an animated film however, then i generally prefer to watch it dubbed. One reason for this is mainly i grew up with a lot of animated films as a kid, and i think generally it works better than on live action films. I've watched all The Land Before Time films with the swedish dub, and it's been an enjoyable experience (Being that i don't even know which swedish voice actors did the roles there, as i could not find any credits for them). I only watch animated films with the original language if i feel like or if a swedish dub does not exist for the movie i want to watch (like The Nightmare Before Christmas).

Tell me your opinions.

Haven't posted a thread here in a while, mainly because the last thread i posted here got de-railed ridicolously fast.

I saw "Twins" with Schwarzenegger and DeVito dubbed in german language: Schwarzenegger had a voice like a dude who was kicked in the nutts, and DeVito sounded like barry White who had a cold... So gimme subbed

dubbed if it's a comedy or hard to follow...that's all
I think I only watch subbed with the original language on everything :D

For movies, I much prefer sub. Take The Orphanage for example. Fantastic movie and I think if they would have dubbed over the spanish, it would have taken away from the movie.

Now for anime, its mixed for me. I prefer english dub over sub sometimes. I like dub for Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, but I absolutely HATE it for Naruto and Bleach.
Depends. Sometimes dubs can be even better that the original product. Back in the 80-90s Finland most cartoons were atrociously dubbed with Agapio Racing Team holding the title of the worst dubbing company ever. Their dub of Digimon's first 23 episodes are legendary for ther awful scripts and bad delivery. There have been some really good dubs in Finland too, though, like Ducktales, Timon and Pumba and most of the Miyazaki's movies. But when it comes to movies with real people dubbing is really rare and it's mostly used for movies aimed at children. Those are mostly below average.

Some horror films that were banned in the uk at the time had some bad dubbing. my favourite is Riki Oh: The Story of Ricky.
I prefer subtitles. Most things sound better in the original language.
I like movies dubbed.

If we're talking anime, however, I prefer subbed or Japanese without subtitles for comedies. Often times not understanding all of what they're saying (I know a bit of Japanese, nowhere close to fluent, but I can say a few things and can understand a somewhat alright amount) can make a comedy series even funnier.

Thanks for all your opinions, guys. :)
Subbed, most definitely.
Subbed. Live-action dubs in particular make me cringe.
