Do you prefer to watch movies dubbed or subbed?
As the title said, do you prefer to watch movies with subtitles or dubbed?

For me, it depends on the type of movie. If it's a live action movie, then i generally only watch it subbed with the original language. Dubbing on live action films generally sucks in my opinion.

If it's an animated film however, then i generally prefer to watch it dubbed. One reason for this is mainly i grew up with a lot of animated films as a kid, and i think generally it works better than on live action films. I've watched all The Land Before Time films with the swedish dub, and it's been an enjoyable experience (Being that i don't even know which swedish voice actors did the roles there, as i could not find any credits for them). I only watch animated films with the original language if i feel like or if a swedish dub does not exist for the movie i want to watch (like The Nightmare Before Christmas).

Tell me your opinions.

Haven't posted a thread here in a while, mainly because the last thread i posted here got de-railed ridicolously fast.

Subbed most dubbed sound really weird.
Dubbing usually just kills the movie.
When I first started watching anime I did dubbed, I found it difficult to watch anime while looking down at the subtitles and watching the action at the same time. Then I realized how terrible dubs were and switched to subs.

Almost always prefer subbed. But dub can be fine in animation.

I always go with dubbed. I prefer to watch movies in my native language

sub if it's English, dub if it's not English. I can never get into anything when I have to read every word they say.
Subbed. But then again, i'm one of the few Americans that can actually read at an adult level so i don't mind whereas most Americans are like "Der, reading is are dum!"

Some horror films that were banned in the uk at the time had some bad dubbing. my favourite is Riki Oh: The Story of Ricky.

I came here just to mention Ricky Oh. OH LOL, just thinking about it makes me laugh. XD
I prefer subtitle because I'm deaf. It means, I can't read their texts.
