Relatar um problema com a tradução
The problem is that the game Minecraft might have changes that can affect it negatively. Although no one can really say if anything bad could happen, it's possible.
Just think of it like this: How would you react if Microsoft bought Valve?
You maybe may not like Minecraft, but it's still a game and plays a role in the gaming community.
It WAS a big game. Now not so much. Does anyone care what Notch has to say anymore really?
I mean it's big with the kids but does that really affect us on the steam forum?
Also, comparing Valve to MC is terrible. Steam is a platform and it affects a whole lot more people than MC would.
How badly could MS mess up MC anyways? Make certain blocks DLC and restrict world space unless you pay? Idk.
Like I said, its pretty much an MMO now in some respects, and has countless game mods that add value like hunger games or teckit. I don't even play the game and ive been hearing all about this stuff from one source or another.
I thought the same thing as you, but despite this I wouldn't doubt it if someone said it had a higher average population than any game on steam(Dota 2). It is already the second highest selling game of all time, only behind Wii Sports, which was free with any Wii or only costs a few dollars.
Basically, while I played mincraft for a week or 2 then got bored, others didn't and its still probably THE game to buy your kid.
*begins throttling SoT*
People like you are part of the problem!
*lets go*
Glad you saw the light.
Words are nothing; Money is everything.
My understanding was that it was Palmer Luckey who said that in a VR forum announcing he will begin his Kickstarter campaign for the OR later that year. But there was nothing in the actual Kickstarter saying they would remain independent. He must have realised that it would be almost impossible to remain independent in an industry that could knock-out their own similar devices for cheaper and sooner.
To be honest, I don't think the Facebook acquisition would make much of a difference. Rather it was Facebook then Amazon, Google, Apple, Sony or Microsoft. Valve would be perfect, except I don't think they have a spare billion dollars to spend on it.
It's hardly some fad thats over. Still plenty of money to be made from it.
Yeah, but I don't see $2 BILLION being made from it any time soon. Maybe in the next 10 years!
I'd consider it just scamming microsoft of money at this point. That studio hasn't proven their ability to be anything more than a one hit wonder.
and has kotaku really cleaned up their act enough to justify linking to them yet?
Also, all this Minecraft stuff doesn't matter to me, I lost interest in it shortly after it finished beta.
Or at least, with a one-time price that some bought for MC, now there may be a paid subscription to play, or even micro-transactions. For example, new game skin or new character skin? That will be $0.99 please!
