Trying to find competitive 1v1 online games for pc

Its a tall order, everything is all team oriented, i do not have RL friends that play video games, and do not feel like trying to coordinate my free time with 1-3+ other people.

i hate all RTS or any game with RTS controls. like massive hate, so much...omg, it makes me want to napalm the damn games.

By competitive i want

1-a decent playerbase, no ghost towns

2-decent netcode

and a massive plus but not absolutly required either one or both of these options

1-able to create your own character (I.E. lots of customization)

2-lots of characters/classes in general (I.E. not skullgirls with there massive 8 default characters)

and yes i mentioned skullgirls, doesnt mean it has to be a arcade fighting game (tho i ahve a sp3 controller and ps3 fightstick i may be able to figure out how to hook up)

Im sorry im a whiney, needy person who cant play well with others btw, but to anyone willing to give some ideas, ill lvoe you froever

Never heard of a fighting game with REAL customization.Changing you bottoms of your shoes from white to grayish blue ISNT customization

maybe if there was in the neighborhood of 24 characters, without the DLC characters, and maybe if there were more male characters.

no, fighting games are just the most common

any 1v1 game

sept for RTS style games (or games with RTS controls).

super smash bros
godzilla save the earth

They dont have customization but the characters differ greatily
Of course you can play a super smash bros game online and there is a version of custom robo here

Im not sure about godzilla save the earth because it is xbox (first) and ps2 and i dont think xbox (first) and xbox 360 users can play together

There are tons of games you can 1vs1 like fps or racing but those are really 16/6 player games.I expect your going to get answer such as halo or boarderlands 2 which is why i mention this

it doesnt HAVE to have customization, it would just be a nice perk.
