Would Minecraft be Better With Notch in Charge?

I've been pumpin' water directly into my mouth from the fountain of knowledge and this lead me to the question: Would Minecraft be a better game if Notch didn't sell it to Microsoft?

I'm always against corporations taking over independent games they see potential in, not only you lose money in the long term if it's really going to be a huge success, it also kills off the original devs' intentions replacing them with corporations' usually bad perspective and understanding of the original design.

So what do you think, was the decision for the worse.. or for the better?

he supports nonbinary gender identities and feels that acronymal-based movements are political affectations purposefully designed to destroy the causes they champion.

I think the worst thing you could say about him in this light is that he's tone-deaf, stubborn, and turning himself into a willing victim for a ravenous and cruel society unneccessarily. so probably autistic, which the average social justice person considers an enemy ultimately since they will 'oppose progress' that they represent for obtuse reasons that can't be explained very easily.

you see a lot of very smart autists having no idea how to navigate those waters, and a lot of 'woke' people hungry for victims. for some kind of scapegoat of evil they can burn in effigy, and make the world right again.

well that was the initial offer, but notch didn't want to be corprately aligned.

so whoever is behind microsoft financially used their influence to crush him and drive him insane until he sold. to microsoft, not a nice intermediary with nice people (ostensibly) in charge.

Okies, if what you're saying is true, the game would be.. unaffected by it? Mojang didn't add pronouns or anything like that, and I doubt the man would put anything anti-progressive.

Why would you support letting the game be run by someone who is anti-LGBT? Post history suggest the exact opposite stance.

Minecraft would be better as free and open-source software.

There's Minetest, but they are too busy arguing over whether they are creating just a game or a game engine.

I doubt it. Notch had the vision to create the game in the first place, but to be honest I don't really think he'd know where to go from there. I think he's said that the addition of slabs and certain other non-full blocks was a mistake because it detracts from the essence of what the game is. I think he'd be too cautious with making any big game-changing updates.

Well the b in lgbt literally refers to a binary sexual orientation, which bis are associated with due to an inability to self-define within the culture. Ie they are what gay men and gay women say they are, whatever those groups present themselves as.

There's hardly a unified culture behind that acronym, and it pisses a lot of people off.

Artistically he's got a point I think, either this is a world of full blocks or it isn't. That's a clearly definable line,

and microsoft pushed him into turning that into a position on trans identity after months and years of harassment based on this point.

I don't think people really understand what it's like to be on the other end of that kind of psychological torture for an extended period of time.

i woud prefer notch because he made teh game feel still pure, and vanila. but with jeb_ in charge everything feels like a mod.

hi there, bisexual person here.
it does not mean it is binary, it refers to attraction to the same and opposite genders, not just men and women.
