Do you feed the squirrels if they come to you?

I do not carry squirrel food with me so no.

That being said, I do not have an issue with people who do, even if there is a bylaw against it where I am.

I now and then see people dumping loads of foods for birds, squirrels, etc.

I didn't know about avocados.

You can't give the skins or seeds as those are toxic, but they love the gooey goodness inside

I'm not feeding the squirrels by hand like a princess or anything, but I do put fruit slices and saucers of water out in the yard for them, on hot days.

Last time I interacted with a squirrel was in LA while waiting for a bus.

I don't know if it wanted something from me, or if it was also waiting for the bus, so we just kinda stared at each other.

A squirrel could last for a month on an avocado if they wanted to. Or they could eat it all and run around taunting cats for a week straight.

Obviously they are trying to figure out which squirrel has that right in regards to that specific avocado.

I don't, but I do slow my pace whenever I see them as to let them pass. I've a kinship with them, in that they like several other small critters like hamsters and magpies are relatable to me. So I give them more respect than I do most people.

There is probably a reason why I'm more or less always alone.
