Am i the only one who feels bad when indie games don't score well?
I been looking at all the new indie games coming out this year, and seeing some have a metacritic score of 50-60 kinda makes me feel bad for them. Cause i am not talking about some indie slop that someone made from AI, or didnt even try, but real games that developers tried hard to make, but just didnt do well. Like i get it, everyone takes that risk, but knowing they spent all that time, and money just to fail at making a good game has to hurt.

No. I'm sure the developers also feels bad that their game failed to deliver.

I'm pretty sure woke devs love it when their games tank so they can blame the toxic "masculine" guys like tate for it.
a 50-60 doesn't mean a failure to make something good anyway, games can be niche, indie games especially can often forgo structuring themselves for mass appeal, with no publisher incentive to do so

Fair point.
As someone who both writes and watches reviews, no I don't feel bad if a game I like isn't well liked. I like what I like. I dislike what I dislike. Some of my opinions are undoubtedly unpopular while others are quite the opposite. It is what it is.

If I had control over other people, believe you and me we wouldn't be having this conversation right now as I'd be too busy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the world writ large. At least in accordance to my paradigm and thus my opinions and beliefs. In either case, humans are inherently biased and there is nothing that can be done about that short of cognitive gelding with a possible side of nerve stapling.

In other words, it's fine if people dislike what you like. ♥♥♥♥ them, they're not you. If their opinion matters to you, ask yourself why that is the case and if perhaps that needs to change. At least, that's my opinion on the matter.

Can you tell that I think too much about ♥♥♥♥ like this?

Irony being that it's usually the people who hate their games that wind up giving them money in the first place. Part of me wishes they would show apathy and nothing else, but part of me understands that sunlight is the best disinfectant and no one - or at least most people - don't like being mocked and ridiculed.
Many devs who present as "indie" have the same sort of corporate slimeballs running them anyway, so no not really.

That being said, I don't generally give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about reviews.

I feel bad when I accidentally kill bugs though
Why would you look at Meta Critic reviews for indie games?

Just use the Steam review rating. Those people actually bought the game.
