Russia to officially quit Europe’s anti-torture treaty
https://www.politico.eu/article/russia-officially-quit-europe-anti-torture-treaty/

The proposal is signed by Russian Prime Minister Mishustin. Russia has demonstrably already de facto abandoned the Torture Convention to the extent that it was ever followed and there are hundreds (thousands?) of testimonies of sexual torture, physical torture and mental torture against Ukrainian prisoners, both civilian and military. Countless torture chambers have also been revealed and documented when parts of the Kharkiv region, Kherson region and Donetsk region were liberated during the major Ukrainian counter-offensives in the fall of 2022.

So it is at least honest that Russia is withdrawing from the torture ban and stopping pretending and formalizing that torture is permitted and should occur against prisoners in Russia.

same, I live in Canada and the lies they tell us in western propaganda is absurd, especially that Ukraine torture lots of people, look at what they did to Gonzalo Lira, he was tortured and killed for saying the truth.
I'm surprised they bothered to officially withdraw.
They usually break a treaty before their signature is dry.
What the Russians soldiers do to their own soldiers would be considered torture / grounds for dismissal in NATO forces.

USA break every treaty, not Russia, they know NATO and Ukraine are huge torturers though.

Russia is an evil country.

Many girls and women from Ukraine were raped by Russian soldiers.

Americans need to realize how evil Russia is.

We need strong leaders in the USA.

Let's bring back George W. Bush and Cheney. Nobody messed Ukraine under his presidency.

God bless the USA and God bless the neoconservative movement in the USA.

We need to remove MAGA now.
