RPGs be all like
Strength: This makes you deal more damage!
Defense: This makes you take less damage!
Speed: This makes your actions faster!
Evasion: This makes enemies miss more often!
Luck: This does... something. We promise. Stop asking stupid questions.

This is the reason why in Fallout: New Vegas there's no new game +, imagine maxing luck and then suddenly dodge Benny's shot.
NPC: I need you to make a delivery.
Me: That person is literally right next to you. Just take 4 steps to the left and he’s right there.

Luck usually increases the chance of Critical Hits.

you wouldn't be able to dodge it, because the game was rigged from the start.

NEver had this problem with Robot Warlords.
-Manage your own gang of Ed 209s game.
And depending on the game, full Luck build is either:
COWER, FOOL MORTALS! YOU CANNOT HIT ME AND I AUTO-CRIT ALL OF YOU

or

Please, sir, store proprietor...please buy all this ammo! I looted 350% more rifle bullets from that container, but nobody needs more rifle bullets. I need more armor so my anemic ass doesn't turn into a tumbleweed when enemies sneeze at me...
Silly rabbit, luck is for Leprechauns.

Similarity is what defines a genre. F.P.S. is grab a gun and if you see something move shoot it before it shoots you. If it does shoot you, step on a first aid kit to remedy the damage. If you run out of damage, collect ammo for your gun before you need to shoot the next thing, because punching enemies or chopping them up with an axe/chain saw isn't really that effective and kind of difficult.

In R.P.G. maker luck is supposed to be how likely you are to contract a status ailment, but the natural effect is only marginal. Some devs. use it to determine odds of scoring a critical hit for extra damage. Ergo, critical hit = lucky hit.
