>why is it bad here
A mystery wrapped in an enigma.
not only is this not true, but this thread is specifically about LGBTQ+ peoples. so even if it were, the topic is about the discrimination and acceptance against LGBTQ+, not "everyone else".
if you are claiming a heterosexual person in my traditional, conservative country would face the same levels of discrimination and harassment as a homosexual person...then i do not know what to say. you are just wrong, and i think you know this.
LGBTQ+ in my country are not asking for special treatment, we are asking for the right to get married and not be viciously harassed or harmed in public.
and this is just utterly untrue and shows how you know nothing about my country. women can travel solo here just fine, and regularly do.
and this is not cute. yeah i get it, LGBTQXYZ, you guys need more material.
you keep saying this...no LGBTQ+ person anywhere wants special treatment. if you see it this way, it is your onus to grow and move past this.
and again, if you believe a heterosexual person (the majority) will face the same levels of discrimination as a homosexual person (the minority) simply because they are straight, you are factually incorrect.
i am going to assume you are not LGBTQ+, please correct me if i am mistaken. but the point of that is, sometimes you need to accept that because you are NOT part of a certain group, you are not qualified to speak on what it is like to be that group, or whether that groups experience is "similar" to other groups. most especially if you are a significant majority.
you are free to discuss such things, of course. people here do all day anyway, and this thread is thread 50000 made this week by a heterosexual person discussing issues that do not concern them and never will. but i have to admit, i mostly do not like talking about this.
my country sucks, it is absolutely terrible that i was born as a queer person in a country like mine. it is a living freaking hell and i lost the cosmic lottery big time by not being born in about 100 other countries less bigoted than mine. but i have traveled extensively, i was very lucky to have parents that wished for me to see the world. and every single country i have ever been in other than my own, i was openly able to be myself without discrimination.
anyway, peace to you. i will stop the discussion here. my mental health is not good enough to debate such things.
I specifically said, that I don´t think anyone (including LGBT+) ask for special treatment.
But you don´t wanna read what I write, you want to blow up the debate.
Do you really disagree with that we are all just humans?....
By your argument, someone with blue eyes in your country, would most likely be more harrashed and discriminated against, becuase they are a minority... I reckon it would be hell for people with amber eyes.
The point is.. your argument is invalid. I personally dislike the LGBT+ tag, as it is such a broad thing and it makes more division.. who the .... cares whatever sexual orientation people have..I rather know the person and respect them for whom they are.. that is the important thing after all. The tag is way to boxing and lead to division...
I rather just call you Salamander and then learn whom you are and what you like to do and see your actions. Whatever clothes you wear, what sex you are, the colour of your eyes or sexual orientation is not important.. I understand that in society with age gap and old vs new tradition it can be harsh to ride the tide.. this is a normal thing, no matter what age we are in... all have these struggles. I live in one of the least discriminative countries (we were among the first to adopt gay marriages ie) but I´ve seen plenty of low key discrimination and harashment for just about anything.. even simple things like playing videogames (yes we are back into the 80s)
It is like trying to make a group called BE/AS/L (people with blue eyes, people on autism spectrum (no matter their eye colour) and lawyers)
I mean... it makes no sense... they are just human... also why would I group orientation together with identification, discriptors and so forth....
My argument is that your country is extremely divided due to several things like age gap and socio-economic enviroment..
Lets not debate anymore indeed.. we don´t even disagree.. you just feel like you are more targeted as a "specific" individual, than other people..
So lets end it with this... hopefully you will understand the point from it.
