US Supreme Court upholds Tennessee law restricting gender transition
US Supreme Court upholds Tennessee law blocking sexual mutilation surgery and puberty blockers on children. 6-3 decision puts U.S. in line with Britain, win for sanity.

The 6-3 ruling is likely to have a broad impact as 24 other states have already enacted laws similar to the one in Tennessee, which bars gender transition surgery, puberty blockers and hormone therapy for youth.

The law wasn't about any type of surgery. If you're going to just copy snippets from articles all day, at least link them so people can see the lies/misrepresentation.

Are you going to say that when the suicide rates increase due to lack of options?
Things will only get worse for trans people with fascists like Trump in office. Gender affirming care will be banned for adults soon too…

Remember, the part doing this has always historically been wanting less government in the private lives of citizens. Ironic huh?

A lie is a deliberate attempt to misinform people. It's not exactly fair to call somebody a liar when there may be a good chance they are trying to be honest.

In that regard the first article I checked was from N.B.C. news and it's basically saying the same thing[www.nbcnews.com] in the first few paragraphs.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a Tennessee law restricting gender transition care for minors, delivering a major blow to transgender rights.

The 6-3 ruling is likely to have a broad impact[www.nbcnews.com] as 24 other states[www.lgbtmap.org] have already enacted laws similar to the one in Tennessee, which bars gender transition surgery, puberty blockers and hormone therapy for youth.

The court was divided on ideological lines, with the six conservatives in the majority and the three liberals in dissent.

Those laws now look set to survive similar legal challenges. The ruling does not affect states that do not have such bans, meaning care in those states will still be available.

Plus you have to be able to apply the general principle across the board. If less extensive gender reaffirming care restrictions was upheld, then it's likely more extensive ones would be upheld as well. The general holding seems to be that gender reaffirming care is not protected by the equal protection clause.

However with that having been said, there are other legal challenges on the way.

The ruling does not definitely resolve all legal issues relating to the state bans as it did not address a separate argument under the 14th Amendment that the laws violate the right of parents to make health care decisions for their children.

Given that this is being decided upon party lines though, I think that challenge is also unlikely to succeed. Might also be likely to be overruled whenever the court has a liberal majority, in the same way Roe v. Wade flipped with a conservative majority court.

Edit: (Deleted a misplaced line of my own text in the quotation box)

A lie is an intentional attempt to misinform somebody to deceive them. It's not really fair to say something is a lie if there was possibly a good faith attempt at honesty.

In this case, "liar" is completely accurate.

Good. Major decision. It's now a state decision. I don't think children have the mental capacity to make life altering decisions. It's now in-line with their inability sign a legal contract as a child.

That's easily debunked by looking up the law itself.
