Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.
It's a high risk/high reward option. It's the only solution that has a reliable track record of making major change, but it often fails too.
Wishing there were no more soldiers does not mean you can't support the ones we have and accept that they are a necessity in this ridiculous world at the moment.
Violence doesn't "solve" anything, it either destroys it or makes it go away for a time and come back seeking revenge.
At the same time we cheap out on things like veteran's benefits and health care for when they get wounded, we vote for unlimited funds to military contractors...
So....
You try to solve your own problems by solving other people's problems using violence.
