the reasons are not that serious? it is a fantasy genre afterall
I doubt anime like Attack on Titan and Berserk (to name a couple) were made for children in mind.
But. Its now for kids
Anime does not always follow a linear story progression where there has to be some kind of tension and resolution, sometimes it's more like a painting that you just immerse yourself in, without any particular narrative, it's the experience.
That's why they take so much time and care depicting things that might seem trivial like flowers or water or the sky, that is as much an important part as the story, if not more so. That's why you can have entire episodes about someone going fishing or walking in the park.
It's like the criticism people have of Cyberpunk when they say it's one inch deep and three miles wide. These kinds of anime are the same idea, but on purpose. You aren't looking for depth of character, you are looking for breadth of experience.
Almost like most anime is a derivative hash.
My personal picks:
Violet Evergarden (best anime i ever saw)
Cowboy Bebop
Ranma 1/2 (both the remake and original actually)
Kare Kano
Higurashi (not the new ones tho, those absolutely suck)
Pokemon (Indigo League, the original series)
Blue Box
I mostly stopped watching anime but i will give Spy X Family a chance when i get the time for that.
