There are plenty of entertainment outside hollywood and anime.
1) Harukana Receive
2) How do we relationship?
3) Doughnuts under a crescent moon
4) Inspector Tsunemori Akane
5) Scum's Wish
only its made for adults and most of it is age restricted.....wow...its like you dont have a understanding of what your talking about...
Just don't let a bunch of kids watch "Kara no Kyokai" or "Mnemosyne", or there could be unforeseen consequences.
I have been watching anime for... pretty much my entire life.
The devolution of the female character in these shows is very real.
Watch some '80's or 70's anime.
They have goals. Motivation. Character development.
OG 'Macross' being a great example. The female XO has to take over. And she's inexperienced. Way in over her head. But eventually becomes a strong leader. And most of her crew? Women. Which have widely varied personalities.
Depictions of modern women in anime are terrible because they aren't realistic in any way. And I'm not talking supernatural stuff. They have no character development.
They are strong because they are strong. They are smart because they are smart.
Writing is about making a character. Telling us about them. Not just throwing them in and expecting the audience to accept that's who they are.
When your list is that long it really removes any weight to your argument lmao
