Not legal here. They're 'parked' outside :polarbear: Allergy and probably other reasons. Dogs could get eager in a grocery store :cyberpunkbird:
Dogs are not allowed in stores unless its a service dog. If you have one you park it outside.

Depends on the store.
Hardware stores allow dogs but grocery stores do not.

I think MANY people are abusing the "service animal" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ though. I've seen several instances where the dog obviously wasn't a service dog but had the cheap vest from Amazon. Also some people think emotional support = service dog and this is not true in the slightest. Emotional support is a stupid made-up thing so people can keep their pets where they shouldn't/
Not allowed where I live, but service animals are. And that rule gets abused the vast majority of the time with people bringing their pets into stores using the lie that it's a 'service' pet

Ideas don't get to be bad or good.
Ideas actually can't be bad or good.

In practice?
does one carry around toilet paper on their shoes?

I hate this service animal crap where they don't need to prove it. I shouldn't have to deal with someone's dog being a nuisance. Then you got people who walk around with service snakes, spiders, alligators, and other dangerous sh!t. You can tell all the animals are stressed out too. It's just animal abuse at this point. Animals have become a fashion accessory to these "animal parent" types.

So who assists if not an animal? A person?

It’s an honest question.
It depends on the store. There's obvious sanitary issues with allowing dogs in grocery stores, but other than that it should be up to the store owner.
Bad idea, people don't clean up after dogs, and some dogs leave presents with worms in it behind. Last thing you want is to step in it, and then there are kids that roam around....
Kids with toys in the store?

Drive/transform/dance in the produce itself. Grand Ideal/Strange Ideal

Pretty sure they have service animals in Sweden. They definitely have in Norway, also 'professional' companion dogs, not just 'seeing dogs'.

I don't think I've seen them in grocery stores, though. Maybe blind people order groceries online (like I often do), of have care personnel buying it for them? Not sure, though.

But when walking around town here, you often see people with service dogs.
