Yes, I give money to homeless people. I also buy them food, facial razors, shaving cream, etc. and I tell them about places that are currently hiring if I know of any.
I don't care if they spend it on alcohol or Heroin or prostitutes, as long as they aren't hurting anyone.
edit: There is nothing wrong with bringing shampoo/body wash to the swimming pool and showering there. I give them money so they can make their own decision: buy hygiene products or buy substances. They deserve autonomy and I hope they can get clean.
