It's quite easy.
I actually started by deleting / Neutering Intel ME on my first laptop in 2019.
Can chat with the community on IRC if you need help or have questions.
I just borrowed a bread board from the school library. Followed the youtube instructions how to wire it up. Than ran the script on my raspberry pi.

Viola, stabbing at Satan. Join us brothers and sisters :). This is how it starts. If you get a good laptop, they get kind of mad. some iterations they say "We won't let that happen again". Making it harder to even get at the spi flash it seems intentional having to disassemble the whole thing rather than just pop the back lid or keyboard. Watch a talk from Corna he dives into what we know about intel Management Engine if you are interested. The man is a hero making things easy for us non-technical folks.
But Libreboot is a step up from just running Nicola Corna's script. Libreboot is Coreboot build system making it easier for new users, but that is OK. Even easier is GNUboot you just download the image and flash it you don't have to build it yourself. Replace your non-free bios as soon as you can and join us in trying to create a free and fair world full of love and hope ;).
Why would a person want to do that?
Are there any benefits or is it just an alternative or more efficient way to boot up?
