How come people from ♥♥♥♥ holes around the globe aren't doomers?! If anyone is a doomer it should be a person from South America or Africa or the Middle East or any other world permanent PVP zone, but somehow it's sheltered teenagers from the middle and upper middle class of 1st world countries.
I don't think that's about life's trials much, I think it's about communities. Human beings are weak alone and having peoples around to support them is what make them able to go through a lot of ♥♥♥♥. Both south americans and middleeasterners live either in tribes / clans settings, when the average westerners on the other hand can quickly be very isolated and in the middle of an individualistic hellhole anyway.
The trials of life themselves aren't the main problem, the main problem in the west is how we crafted our societies to isolate peoples further and further into their own "bubbles" and spread more and more divisions between peoples. Human beings are a social specie, we need to interact with each other and feel like a part of a greater group. We destroyed our family structures, we destroyed cultural coherence and increased political divisions and fanatisms. So this result isn't a surprise from my point of view, as it's not about the trials, but about how weak we've become collectively.
Isolation from a luxurious mainstream is usually quite angering growing up, when your self worth is being crafted rather than it existing on some observable or long proven merit.
We used to handle this with a unifying culture, but we messed that up for them as well, so there isn't really much to hold on to. This is why you see extremism like woke or Trump worship, to desperately fill the gaps for those who need really strict rules for behavior.
Personally, I try to fix this where I can and it's usually really easy to give hope to young people. All you have to do is be sane for them for five minutes, and they'll know that sanity is actually a thing.
"A society that forbid all adventure leave only one to pursue : the adventure that consist at destroying said society."
Not even a new theme at all btw, the saying isn't new, can't recall from who it comes sadly.
For now it's doom & gloom, until it is too much to cope it out and anger become the main emotion these peoples feel on a daily basis. At this point, it's just a matter of time before it devolve into some sort of civil war. Yep, just a matter of time.
Things are unaffordable for a lot of people, especially us younger guys 35 and under. So dating is closed off, travel and vacation are closed off, hobbies are limited, etc. Most things that give young people hope and reasons to be optimistic are not possible.
I've seen a vid or two from both guys before and though I haven't watched them in a good while, they've been pretty accurate with their coverage of current attitudes in Western society. Things are very rigged against us right now.
you get out what you put in
there's no fair, and it can be depressing but there is a simple solution . . .

thread = solved
ur welcome
Well, from my own experience, the contrary is true. Nobody can win against inflation and we'll have more and more of this one I fear.
More money isn't the answer here. I'm a technician myself, so I tend to view things like another technical problem to solve. The main thing most peoples lack today, is the ability to truely think outside of the box and search for original, simple solutions to their problems. We waste a lot of ressources and ignore the value of a lot of great things around.
It may be counter-intuitive at first, but I think what most peoples lack in the west these days is imagination and time. Allowing yourself to take some time to think and allow yourself all viable options can go way farer than what most peoples think at first glance. I even think at some point money become counter-productive, as it give you the habit to "play in easy mode", preventing you from developping some usefull skills.
I think your comment sort of explains everything that is wrong with society these days.
The only solution is to increase your earnings.
Being lazy isn't a virtue it's a privilege.
Except that's not possible for enough peoples to do that, money don't grow on trees. From my point of view, that's a bunch of peoples fighting to get the biggest part possible of a shrinking cake.
Again, on the long run, you can't win against inflation, no matter how much money you have, inflation will always win. What's interesting is to understand how to counter inflation so the cake increase in size, allowing more peoples to eat their part of it.
Economy is simple, if you work in services or trades, you produce no value with your work. What produce more value in the economy is using energy to craft some stuff and what create a ♥♥♥♥ ton of actual value, is heavy industry. For each job in the industry, you can sustain 5 or 6 peoples doing something else, selling you video games for example. Some studies even go as high as 9 jobs in trades and services for one job in the industry.
We need reindustrialisation and innovation, because that's what produce more cake's parts for everyone to share, one way or another. You can't solve our actual problems at the individual level I fear. At the individual level you can only starve the others, so you survive, exactly like how they did during the middle age. But if you don't want your country to become a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ where you have to kill the others to prosper, you need to find ways to make the cake grow. And for the cake to grow, you need both energy and industries + innovations to use it correctly. Nothing complicated.
