Still waiting for sony to remake this.
It was my favorite game on the Ps1. I spend literally thousands of hours playing that game. Finding all the dragon genes, testing out different gene combos, collecting all the monster abilities, building the fairy village, searching for secrets. It's an absolute mother lode of easter eggs and the best part is I bought it for $5 from a bargain bin of video games from KB Toys back in the 90's.
Best $5 I've ever spent. More bang for my buck than any other game I've played.
The only one I can think of right now is Road Rash (1994). It was such a good game and playing it with modern graphics would be so cool. There have been some games which tried to emulate that but none of them are as good.
That too! A modern remake in the style of Ni No Kuni would be so good.
It was a great game despite the limitations of the console. But I was never a fan of Ps1 shooters. The Ps1 struggled to do 3D without the textures looking like garbage.
I would kill for a remake of the Ghost in the Shell Ps2 game. That was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing shooter. It had a great single player mode and one of the best splitscreen modes I've ever played with friends. Playing splitscreen you could play as Motoko or Batou, or as any other character in the game - thugs, soldiers, combat robots. Even the little trash can droids that look like R2D2 with a pistol mounted on them. It was hilarious.
Tenchu = A classic Ninja stealth em up. It is way dated now but atmosphere is everything and this got the sounds and darkness right for it.
There was a sinister undertone too of the supernatural at work.
Koudelka = sinister ghost / horror type of game with turn based battles that still little spooky feel.
Deathtrap dungeon = based on the background of the FF book (a major recommend to read by the way) it resembled nothing of the book in game play but it was one of those with potential.
G police = this in the modern day or even in the ps3 era could have been made into an epic deep game of choices and fighting and neutralising and ofcourse flying about in the future of law enforcement vehicle.
Remaster: I’d give anything for a Vagrant Story remaster that could be released on PC. The save system was abysmal and the map loading made a lot of travelling really annoying. In the right hands, a remaster could be amazing.
edit. Wait, that's PS2.
Same for Crash Team Racing.
