They want you either to scan your face, or you show your government I.D.

Me personally, I abandoned the service when it wanted my irl phone number. Which I have no reason to give to a company that I'm not buying anything from. Thats collecting and selling my data, recording everything.

On the one hand you have safety. On the other you have further eliminating online anonymity, specially in places like the UK where you may need that more than ever. And on the A.I. side your improving the a.i. facial detection and building a database of images most likely.

Just use a fake id or fake face on a poster or something, they are really easy to fool

there will be hacking freelancers that offer services on fiverr after they introduce it. Age verification will never work, but it will boost the black market I believe.

Its a test, before rolling it out elsewhere.

It could go everywhere, who knows. If people make it a success.

And when Discord, one of the largest does it. Other online chat services could adopt it too. And politicians could point to discord's success and legislate it so all the online chat services make you verify yourself.

And we all know how these sites never get compromised, never share data on users to silence them, and don't believe in life time bans that they could all adopt at the same time.

These tech compabies wouldn't ban you from every social media and force you to make your own, nah they sure never did it to the very freaking president of america once.
