I'm talking about Windows 98 SE without any modifications done to it. You CAN go up to 4GB with modifications on Windows98SE but there's really no point to it unless you duel boot with XP then it's a God send. XP will see the 98 partition but not the other way around meaning you can transfer stuff that way to Win 98SE.
I'm not talking about vehicles. I'm talking about Windows 98 SE. Second Edition.
I bet it was just XP at that stage. XP without mods could see up to 4GB on the 32 bit edition which we all had. LOL. I don't think ANYBODY had the 64bit Windows XP.
98 can actually do more then that. LOL. Even the crappy First Edition could!
Oh God. I bet the 64 barely ran. Most games needed at least 256MB to be at proper speed for minimum requirements. 512MB was the recommended though. Early XP it all started to change but still games had cross support. Some games that were labeled as XP also installed on Windows 98 SE.
on paper in can handle 1GB
in reality it will cause errors if you did. (even more than the blue screen of death you would be getting every 45 min in 98 and every 60 min in 98SE
512 would work much more stable..
XP I have been running with 4GB ram.. (though it only could see 3.2GB unless you used the 64bit version) same with my harddrives winxp could only handle drivers upto 640GB not larger.
win 7 allowed you to use 128GB (but only ultimate verserion.. the others were still capped at 16 (basic) or 32GB home/pro)
